Remember this guy?Or it could be a girl.I dunno, there's too much fur for me to be certain.It's my holiday painting. And that's all the leisure art I'm able to accomplish. And furthermore it's supposed to be part of a bigger picture, but I don't have time to complete it.The hamster looks so guilty and funny i just had to paint it.

Next month I'll be home alone for the whole month. Both my parents will be in Australia to visit my sisters and their families.I think I will be very lonely...what to do...switch on the radio 24/7 lah...If any of you guys want to visit also can.But little boys are not provided for your paedophillic pleasure, sorry.

On the other hand, some of my Australian relatives are coming to stay with me for a week because a cousin in getting married and wants to have a dinner with our side of the family.I hope with their visit and the 1 week CNY holidays at least I won't be so lonely.Or the next time you see me I might be talking to my laptop and Tchaikovsky, my pet money plant(btw Tchaikovsky survived 1 week without water while we were in Vietnam, I'm so proud of him)

~~~~~~~
Oh yeah, and to Tse Yein, if you have access to the internet wherever you are being locked up, I asked Santa for a friend like you too, but I didn't want to reply that sms cos #1 I was too lazy and #2 Digi doesn't need that sort of chain mail to get more money for a Merry Christmas.Akakakakaka...Not from me anyways.
To everyone else, Merry Christmas.
Hanoi trip picture journal
Sohs I'm back.We stayed in the old quarters part of Hanoi, a very tourist saturated part.And very overpopulated also.More motorbikes than cars.Walking on the 5 foot ways is a bit of an adventure. They park their motorbikes there, then there are the people selling food in all available spaces, and when we were there there was a lot of road works going on. On top of that there's all the pedestrians, trishaws, women selling things from bamboo baskets and handbag dogs belonging to shop owners running around on the pavement.crossing the road, you have to just walk out in front of motorbikes and let them dodge you, if not you'll never cross.The driving style in hanoi is the dodging technique, they don't follow road rules. Luckily they drive slowly and honk a lot so i didn't see any accidents while I was there(although i always expected someone to die sooner or later)
Btw my camera was a bit spoiled so I don't have many good pictures. Most of the good ones are taken indoors or at night. For some strange reason my camera makes white lines on the pictures if there's too much light.To try to take as many good pictures as possible i used the lowest ISO setting, and that made my pictures blur instead.
OKehs...
Day1: Flight to Vietnam.Arrived very late, so not much to tell.I was pretty freaked out with my first encounter with Vietnam style driving though.( the taxi driver kept dodging into different lanes and driving bumper to bumper with motorcyclists and honking too much)
Day 2: Travelling around the old quarters. There's where we stayed. The old quarters is full of family run businesses, street vendors and low cost hotels. So that's where all the tourists are saturated.At the edge of the old quarters are the government buildings.Vietnam was under communist influence and now they call it a socialist republic. So it was interesting to see guards in the communist uniforms and propaganda posters near the government buildings.
One of those patriotic statues. FYI it's so deserted because the whole street was closed to traffic to make way for a night market.At the time i was there the stalls were only just opening.
Dinner old quarters style. Vendors cook on the 5 foot way and have tiny stools for you to sit on and eat.
Day3: Halong Bay
We took a tour to Halong bay, 3 1/2 hours drive away from the city. It's well known for it's rock formation and caves.Unfortunately the air pollution was bad even in such a rural place, so the view wasn't as clear as i hoped.But the fisheries nestled between steep mountains were interesting, it would be nice to swim there in the summer.
The roof of one of the caves
The hole through which the guy who found the cave fell through. If it were me i'd run away and never mention the cave to anyone, but this guy was convinced he'd found the Palace of Heaven in the cave.
Rock formations.Sorry a bit blur.
Day 4:Ho Chi Minh mausoleum and 1 pillar pagoda.
No pictures for the 3rd day, cos it was all outdoors=white lines amok=practically cannot see anything.And indoors we're not allowed to take pictures.But anyways we saw Uncle Ho's preserved body. The security there is very high, cannot take in cameras and any liquid in case you bomb up the mausoleum. And there's only one entry point eventhough the mausoleum is surrounded by a huge field, so we spent a lot of time just looking for the entry.Strict looking guards who don't understand English doesn't help much, but they pointed out the direction anyways.The 1 pillar pagoda is actually a small shrine in the mausoleum compounds, we spent so much time walking all around looking for it.
Day 5:Temple of literature, Water puppets theatre.
This is another temple we visited in the morning , but i like how the altar turned out.Vietnam is mainly Buddhist.
The Temple of literature is an ancient university that trained men like how they did in ancient China, learning religious scripts, Chinese writing and memorising literature.But it was very interesting, the architecture is not really the same as other Chinese temples, it looks more like Korean architecture.
The giant turtle statues on which they engraved the names, place of birth and award of the graduates.
The stork standing on turtle statues.Supposed to symbolise something but I didn't eavesdrop on the other tourists' tour guide clearly enough to know what it symbolises.But i see it often in their temples.
Lol...those red cylinders are the paper containers used by the scholars. I guess it's something like our portfolios or better known as 'bazooka' containers.
Water puppet theatre is unique to Vietnam culture. People stand in a pool of water and hide behind bamboo blinds while controlling puppets in front of the screen. The performance is a series of stories about Vietnamese folklore and daily life. I think the stories might be standard because there's a specific set of characters used , like the boy riding a buffalo, the dragon, phoenixes and asian fairies.
The singers
The musicians. The musical instruments are quite similar to chinese instruments.
The stage in a pool of water.I only have videos of the puppet performances though(taken illegally ahahahahaa.....)
Day6 :Museum of ethnology
In the morning we went hunting for Vietnamese green tea and found this stall in the market near our hotel.It seems to cater for tourists because everything's labelled in English. Other than that, it's rare to find any English signs or labels anywhere.Apparently they are well known for their coffee as well, but I don't drink coffee, so I don't know.
One of the traditional clothes of one of the Vietnamese races
One of the traditional long houses. Looks like something found in Sabah right?
Day 7: Museum of art
Err...no pictures to show. Photography is not allowed inside the museum and outside, the sun is too bright for me to take clear pictures.Vietnamese art in recent decades basically has a lot to do with the Vietnamese war. Other than that, they also do a lot of painting on silk , laquer painting and clay modelling( I like the clay modelling, they're very creative with it and can make a lot of cute pottery).Earlier art has more to do with culture and religion, especially Buddhism and somehow, Hinduism.
Random shop in the old quarters. They sell only bamboo products. Looks nice.
Vietnam popiah. This version that I tried has some crunchy thing deep fried with prawns and meat. Then you wrap it with salad in a piece of rice paper and dip it in sauce.Very oily but it tastes damn good.
The last two days we were more adventurous with the food and tried  pau, all kinds of mixed rice, something that looks like chee cheong fun(sorry, dunno what it's called) and some local kuih muih. And then I got food poisoning.I think it was the pau.Most of the food looks quite familiarly Chinese.
But whatever you do, if you are in Vietnam, you have to eat their beef noodles. Yes, ask for the beef with the flat noodles(I didn't really like the one that looks like a fatter version of mee hoon)They call it pho bo. Don't ask me how to pronounce.But it's very easy to find, just don't mind that it's mostly sold on the 5 foot ways without proper seating and with motorbikes inches away from you.
Day 8:
food poisoning and I stayed in the hotel room =_=. But it's the day to fly back to Malaysia, so it's the best time to be sick if at all.On a side note, mineral water costs rm4 on air asia flights, and it's not even the standard sized bottle.Such an evil thing to do to me just when I had a sore throat...
Tuesday, December 16, 2008
For those who do not yet know, I will be going to Vietnam on Thursday, until Christmas night.Going to Hanoi.Actually I dunno what to expect, but i hope it's nice and not like Malaysia where everything is promoted better than it really is =_=...
Meanwhile I'm trying to finish up those 3 flour sack animations before i leave, cos i only have 1 week left after i return, and i need that to do the half body modeling and find the sharing tutorials. This doesn't sound like a holiday at all does it? The only thing is that I get to wake up later than usual and fill in the extra time by reading to my heart's content.So far I've read up almost all my old Enid Blyton books(Famous Five, Secret Seven, St Clare, Malory Towers).I still find them nice to read one after another. Also, I've been going thru my old Highlight magazines. It's a childrens' magazine, but it's so nice, at least the international edition is. I wonder if they are still producing them.The paper it's printed on is like recycled paper, very natural feeling and nice to touch, and it's full of colours.They feature lots of things that i think will appeal to art industry people also, imaginative illustrations and articles about talented artists (I learnt about the Dinotopia artist from here)Incidentally I found out about Roger Tory Peterson from that magazine as well
Oh...I went and searched online, and it turns out that they do still produce Highlight magazines.I like their covers too, they have  an illustration on the back that gets kids to find the illogical parts of the picture, and those pictures are always very surreal looking
Saturday, December 6, 2008
A very heavily improvised version of Czardas, played by Nigel Kennedy.But I think still very entertaining to watch.lol...it's like classical mixed with rock and add a bit of klezmer to taste.
This is the version i'm used to listening to, I think it's still the best i've heard so far.
OK,I'll do Yen's tag first, before Siao Chen's one.
Why?
Because Siao Chen's one is so long!!!!!
lol...lazy liao
1.How old are you?
secret
2.Are you single.
huh? isn't that word associated with cheese?
3.In what age do you think you’ll get married?
the dawn of a new age
4.Do you think you’ll be marrying the person you are with now?
sorry, no person with me now. If it helps i have a stuffed dog sitting next to me though.
5.If not, who do you want to marry?
some super rich, famous,good looking,good hearted, chivalrous(is that a word?) knight in shining armor
6.Do you want a garden/beach wedding, or the traditional wedding?
same as Yen, I want a beach wedding. Think blue water, white sand and wooden chalets.Actually it doesn't have to be a wedding, any holiday to a blue water beach and i'm happy.Oh, and someone needs to belanja that for me.Thanks.XD.Oh wait, shit...dunno whether got some crazy terrorist there to blow up the whole resort or not.
7.Your ideal motif?
motif? you mean as in Mafia of Pendidikan Seni?
8. Where do you plan to go on a honeymoon?
I could give you a long list. MSN me if you have enough money.
9.How many guests do you think you’ll invite?
only those that matter. That's right, aunty punya ex boyfriend punya cousin punya employer punya maid punya father is not invited.
10.Do you want an extravagant wedding or a simple wedding?
blue water beach resort,it's extravagant yet simple.
11.Do you want the traditional vows or something you’d make up on your own??
wait a minute...vows means a Christian wedding right?
12.How many layers of cake do you want to have?
Depending on budget, i'd stretch it as high as it could go.But then again since Kaye is the baker i guess it's free after all.Hahah.(pst, Kaye, I mean that)Don't want the fake cardboard thing that is cut for show oni one ah. Oh, and I prefer cheesecake to fruitcake,take note.
13.Do you prefer having your reception at a hotel or at a simple place?
at that blue water beach resort, most probably it'a a 5 star one, courtesy from ...you.
14.When do you want to get married, evening or morning?
whole day party! Morning can watch the sunrise, then afternoon my guests can go snorkelling, evening play beach volleyball and then at night have barbecue.Damn syok.
15.You’d rather have your reception outdoors or indoors?
the main background is the beach so outdoors duh.
16.Do you like a grand entrance for your bride?
bride? huh? and i thought this was a girly girl tag...
17.Name the song/tune you’d like played at your wedding??
it's a whole day thing, so forget about the song,there'd better be like a few albums throughout the day.Unless you want a formerly-beautiful-song to become an annoying-ear-bug by the time the party's over.
18.Do you want a solemn ceremony or a light one?
light one lah, not a funeral right?
19.What age do you want to get married?
is this a # 3 repetition?
same as #5
21.Do you prefer fine dining or just the normal spoon & fork/knife?
it's gonna be international,so roll out the utensils.
both,i think it's normal nowadays.
25.Are you ready for married life?
yes, but if he isn't, i'll be thankful for that ugly and formerly useless oversized clever someone gave me as a wedding present.
27.How many kids do u like?
well...the thing is that I'm not much of a kid fan. I'm not(ahem) Yilyn/Tali/Anisa, sorry.
28.Will u celebrate silver wedding, gold wedding, or diamond wedding?
all. Courtesy of...you!(again)
29.What kind of cuisine would u like for ur wedding?
international!!
30.Will u record ur honeymoon in a cd or dvd?
haiyoh, must beat Yen one in this part.Must make 3D animation of the whole thing and then publish in IMAX format.Then screen to the public and earn the profits.After that only publish in blu ray/cd/dvd/astro. Hopefully Disney will buy over, like what they did to Pixar.XD
I tag...anyone who wants to do
You Are the Very Gay Winnie the Pooh!
Come on, he doesn't wear pants!
And he's a little too obsessed with Christopher Robin
Oh noes...all those times I've been watching Winnie the Pooh and I never suspected anything.XD
Saturday, November 15, 2008
Oh dear God what in the world could this be??
wait, guess first.
.
.
.
.
.
OK,nevermind,I'll tell you.
It's an electric violin.With a super minimalistic design.XD.The description says that the chin and shoulder rests are fully adjustable, but don't ask me how the strings are tuned.
Sohs anyways, i had a weird dream which I think is due to this picture. I dreamt that I was at a clothes shop that my sister recommended because it sells good quality clothes for reasonable prices.But what I bought instead was a violin.Somemore it was hanging from those racks that are usually used to display slippers one.Then, you know how you are always super blur in dreams and don't realise anything is wrong until the dream is nearly over? Near to the end of the dream, I finally noticed something wrong with the so called violin, because there were no tuning pegs on it. And also the fact that it looked more like half a coconut with a plank stuck on to it.And all i thought was...oh damn...that shop doesn't allow returning of sold goods.Now I just have to keep this thing and use my usual violin.What a waste of money.
But having said all that it was a pretty amusing dream.lol...
Liek OMG I can't wait for Sunday to arrive...
Animation finished.
Modelling can be finished tomorrow.(yeah, right, that's what I've been saying everyday since Monday)
Marketing will be finished tomorrow.
Concept art will be finished on Saturday unless I want to improve the booklet which I think I will but at my own leisure so it doesn't count.
Recently I have developed superpowers.
Superpower #1: I can eat little for breakfast, skip lunch altogether and then binge during dinner. Thanks to geeking out in the college com lab trying to save money/rush for assignment datelines/too lazy to look for food
Superpower #2: I go to toilet more often in college.XD. Must be the aircond.
In other news, the current exhibition in my college gallery is featuring us Animation students. Lots of stuff to see from my class.Surprisingly have some of my stuff from Seamus' class.I thought he was going to fail me and my teammates DX.But Talissa said a junior heard him praising my group's work...OK...I don't have a problem with that.lol...My classmates' basic modelling looks very professional.Heard that Seamus wants to exhibit them in Japan. gasp...dunno what to say...feels so syok to see what those people can achieve in 1 semester, eventhough my work is not there.
How nice if next semester I can see more of my works in the gallery.But so far I think my animation is only average(fine, it was never my strong point anyways)I saw Carson's lipsync animation again today and I was thinking that is the benchmark.The animation, body language,camera direction and modelling are all so nice, and somemore he did more than was required...
Sohs, for my other subjects...Modeling started out good but somehow at the end I'm not satisfied with the outcome.Arthur's and De Min's ones are damn nice...you see they all so quiet little cili padis. Concept art is ok, at least in that subject I am a bit stronger.Marketing...eh...I'm supposed to be doing research for Marketing now.lol...sorry lor, quite low priority compared to the other subjects.
In other news, my class needs a blog, seriously.Although this term we've surprisingly been able to keep up with news only a few hours before expiry date.
~~~~~~~~~~~

Also, I've just noticed my sister's kid is due to be born almost exactly 1 month from now.Ish...if only I can visit her...instead I have to be home alone living off frozen food for a month.lol...I'm making myself sound so pathetic.But actually I'm really looking forward to seeing my sister's kid. Maybe we can do video conferencing.lol...

I know my mom is kancheonging right now.So often dreaming about the baby. XD.

Thursday, October 30, 2008

I got to watch The Cell at last, courtesy of the Yen sisters. Or at least, half of the movie...my com couldn't play the first half. But from the second half I somehow still get the storyline. Maybe cos I read the summary...but still.XD.

The movie was err...very very sadistic.I didn't find it that scary tho...just mildly shocking and very entertaining(OMG).The setting is more of a surreal/fantasy setting than a dark horror setting. But somehow it's nice to watch, because of the good character/costume/environment design.I like the storyline, something interesting, getting into the mind of a killer to see why he became that way, and the strange reasoning he uses to kill people.

Why oh why...if only the first cd can be played...

Nevermind, I now have a good store of Disney animations to watch over the holidays.If only Disney stuck to their traditional 2D animations and innovations in animation principles...but instead we have ...ahak...Highschool Musical.Yeah,I know some of you like it and asked me to watch, but ...just put it this way, the songs are listenable, but there are many more movies better than that and are more deserving of the attention. KKF would call it good marketing.

Yesterday I went for a family dinner. And i came to the conclusion that if next time i organise any group dinner, especially in a chinese restaurant, there are 2 things I will not order.

1)shark fin soup- because it's always there just as something to show off in a chinese dinner.More high class cos it's expensive, but i think it's really unnecessary and cruel

2) roasted suckling pig- because basically it's just crispy skin and fat. And the piglet dies for nothing. Everyone complains how high in cholesterol it is. Yet another dish just to show standards in a chinese dinner.

and come to think of it, prolly no prawns if I'm expecting any old folks to attend. They usually don't eat them for health reasons. Although i myself like to eat prawns.lol...

not to sound ungrateful to be invited, but that's what I think.

1. If your lover betrayed you, what will your reaction be? take revenge?
:: Do you remember the story that involved a librarian, an iron maiden and several meat cleavers ? Use your imagination.

2. If you can have a dream to come true, what would it be?
:: To be a successful art collector that makes billions from auctioning of famous artpieces , make myself a politician and then use the billions i made to fund a world war and brainwash everyone into thinking i was their Godsent savior that will save their sorry souls from the infernal pits of hell through wars and become the Great Leader Of The World.

3. What is your dream?
:: Oh, I dreamt of cute fuzzy animals today.

4. What would you do with a billion dollars?
:: refer to #2

5. Will you u fall in love with your best friend?
:: Most probably, but then my best friend is myself.

6. Which is more blessed, loving someone or being loved by someone?
:: i think,liek, those two are, liek supposed to work together or something? Whatever.

7. (Changed)How long do you intend to wait for something you really love?
:: Depends on my budget.If it was an illegally downloaded CD I'd have it right away, but if it was  a Wacom Cintiq with all the pens and software I'd wait until...well...I'd be able to afford to even lay eyes on one.

8. (the question here is,liek, totally the same as #1 betch.I'll change it)What are your opinions about those manga images of women with horrifically oversized boobs.You know those types,we've seen them all.
:: I keep imagining that their boobs will get torn off or burst like water balloons. So...I don't really understand why they are supposed to be appealing. Although those mega sized manga eyes that shine like disco balls do make for some very amusing and sadistic jokes,so I don't mind as much.

9.Do you think the world would be better off if everyone has the same religion/ethnicity/ etc?
:: oh, that's easy,first, kill everyone except one person(me) and then clone top become everyone else, kau tim.So, yeah, it's better.Or maybe not. Need some leng chais to keep me company.

10. You see a 50 year old man entwine arms with a girl about the age of 20+ and find out they are gf/bf. What are your first thoughts?
:: China kuachi woman. I know i shouldn't think that ay, after all it is the 21st century, but then again China kuachi woman are what frequently happen in 21st century Malaysia.

11. How would you see yourself in ten years time.?
:: Working hard to accumulate wealth to carry on with the plan in #2.

12. What's your fear?
:: Worms. Thank you, Sook. I did not look at those pictures in you blog but i imagined them, which is prolly worse, but I won't look at the pictures to compare and find out for sure.

13. What's the first thing you do when you wake up?
:: switch off the alarm and sleep again.

14. Would you give all in a (i changed it XD) buffet?
:: if it was a normal buffet i would prolly eat as much as possible and still be able to walk somewhat with dignity. But if it was an expensive Japanese buffet i'd prolly bring a few novels and spend 6 hours there minimum and keep eating.(that ought to be 2 or 3 meals in one right...)

15. If you fall in love with two people simultaneously, who would you pick?
:: The richer, more evil one.He can be like, my Great Leader of the World punya secretary or something.

16. Would you forgive and forget no matter how horrible a thing the someone has done?
:: No.

17.(Changed)Do you prefer cheese being single or having a relationship with a McD's burger?
:: With the melamine thing going on, no cheese at all is prolly better.

18. If your girlfriend/boyfriend told u that she/he is actually a prince/princess, what will u do.?
:: Marry him. One step closer to world domination I'd say.

i tag...everyone  on my links list who hasn't done this yet.

Hmm...just a little update for fun.

Now college is quite hectic, all the subjects have demanding workloads,except marketing,(but that'll prolly soon change because we still have a project and test to finish within these 2 or 3 weeks that we have left). On one hand I can't wait for certain subjects to end so the workload will be lighter,on the other I worry I cannot finish the assignment or hand in crappy work.The thing is that there is one subject that I try hard at, but still I produce crappy work, and basically I'm just hoping I can pass the subject.

Sohs it's back to the usual remedy, burn the midnight oil.Except nowadays it doesn't seem to be working that well.One day I'd cut back sleep, the next day I'd be so tired I have to gain back that sleep so in the end it's the same thing.Art college seriously is no fun and games although it's supposed to be *cough*holistic learning.

~~~~~~
In other news, my birthday was last Saturday. Quite a non-event, except my family members gave me unexpectedly large gifts. Celebrated at BBQ Plaza, since I've never tried before and always see that the restaurant is packed. I think the food was so-so, but fun to cook it yourself and feels healthy, and also quite value for money.
~~~~~~
Er...I think my England is deteriorating...

~~~~~~
Also, I went up one grade in Violin, which is ironic because now I have less time to practise. But I hope I can learn fast because once I go overseas the cost of music classes will be daylight robbery. (Try USD100 per 1/2 hour class OMG...)but dunno what grade is that lah...
I also came across a forum about naming your musical instruments. Apparently it's good because it makes you bond with your instrument=produce better music. Sohs, for those of you who learn music, do you guys name your instruments?
Sohs I've finally finished the character modelling. Next, have to do texturing and modelling the hair and clothes
Various views. Click to enlarge.I'll prolly do some 'SK-II' effects to smoothen out the odd creases later.
View of my workspace for those who are curious how Maya looks like.The half green model is my reference.Lol...the modelling space somehow reminds me of Pimp my Ride...
Before(blue) and After(grey).My character seems to have changed gender (and possibly species) halfway through.Luckily.BTW that's an ear and an eyelash in the middle.
Oh yeah,BTW this model is going to be the same person as the painting before this. Streetfighter girl's name is Sygne bytheway. And yes,she is a female.There is someone I want to bitchslap concerning this matter.
Here's my main character painting for concept art 2. Might refine it later tho. Btw her role is to impersonate a communist to assassinate their tyrant leader.The printed version came out too dark,so i had to lighten it using photoshop.But then it came out pale.T-T.The backgorund is supposed to follow Dave Mckean's grungy photomontage style.Kinda suits the theme of a heartless and polluted modern city.
Ooo...nice photos...
...
...
...
...wait a minute...
...
Holy ****!!
Those are 3D models!!!!!Aaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes,those are the same type of 3D models that we are making now, which starts out as a lowly grey box with a few divisions. Made by Olivier Ponsonnet, a French guy on CG society.Practically all his works are awarded.Gasp...I've found the Linda Bergkvist of the 3D world...
But then when you realise this guy's associated with magazines such as Exotique, d'artiste and Expose, you know he's really something special.Those magazines make me depressed...
For those of you who enjoyed the head modelling tutorial from Second Reality that Hoe Yi gave us,here's the rest of the tutorials for the whole body etc:
Second Reality closed down,but at least the artist reposted the tutorials.I know,they are easy to follow and more systematic right...so that's good news for those who will accept no substitutes.(like me.lol.)
Well... good news,my internet is back on.
I've also posted chapter 2 and 3 of Chimere in my scriptorium blog.Sohs go read it if you have the slightest interest. And read chapter 2 first, eventhough it's at the bottom yah.
Also,I've reloaded my iTunes playlist.I guess it's a blessing in disguise that the whole of the old playlist disappeared,because now my iTunes is more organised and I saved a lot of space.
And now I have to look for body sculpting tutorials for Maya.
Monday, September 22, 2008
If you guys have been wondering why I'm not online for so long, it's because my internet connection is down.Yippee...In case you are wondering,I'm typing this from college.
Sohs, no msn for very long...good because it makes me focus on my work better, but bad because I feel lonely online.Meanwhile I've been leeching connection from the club and from my condominium users to do Maya XD...hope the connection is fixed soon.
My Maya progress.Yeah,I didn't finish the 50% in time,but I'm proud of myself for even understanding the tutorial XD
Oh yeah,and I owe one chapter to my Scriptorium blog.I'll upload 2 chapters at once next round.Even if nobody is reading DX
PS:Kaye,until when are you staying in Malaysia?Cos I wanna celebrate your birthday
Hahahah...so much research to do for concept art tralalalala...
Sohs I've learned many things that I would otherwise not know.
1)killer whales are not whales,they are dolphins.=_=
2)Dave McKean is making a new movie called Luna.(He's that Mirrormask guy)
3)Neil Gaiman has a new book called the Graveyard Book.(He's the other Mirrormask guy)
4)Deep sea diving expedition packages start from USD25000.Not sure if it's only for scientists or for tourists as well tho.XX,let's go!!!
5)Deep sea giant tubeworms can grow up to 7 feet long.And yes,they are animals,not plants.
6)north Korea doesn't have a President.What they have is an Eternal President of the Republic.He is dead.Kim Jong Il is their Chairman of the National Defence Comission.
7)One of the Backstreet Boys is gay.Cos they have fire and desire.Ask Kaye about this.
~~~~~~
Ok,now to actually sketch out the designs...

You see that girl over there (gestures to right of screen) called Kaye?She has a new blog.It's here,please spam all you like.She likes to eat and she likes Tarzan.

PS: I still don't understand why I'm animeyeen.I don't go kya or nya or desoooo or have pikapika eyes and I don't glomp people.

~~~~~~
There's also another girl,she is called Yen.She's Kaye's sister and she is also my evil music teacher.She also has a blog,and it is over here.She shares it with her Belgian bf. He says he can tell you about Belgian chocolate if you want.
PS:Get a chatbox.Currently I can't tell people to spam you.
I'm just really very frustrated now.My dad recommended me to delete my music files because he said it will remain in iTunes and in the end it will save my hard disk a lot of space.I did that and in the end all my files dissapeared from iTunes.The good news is that I have backup files.The bad news is that there is nothing in my playlist,and I have to click everything again to put in the playlist.Also,all the renaming and organisation that I did is of course lost.Worst of all,instead of saving space,I think it ate up more space on my hard drive,which translate to slower computer speed.I will be needing good speed this term because of all the Maya subjects.
Also,the transfering of files has eaten up my time today for doing maya assignments. I feel very stressed and tired now,so I'm just going to sleep over it and do my assignments tomorrow. Seems that I won't be listening to any music for the time being.
Thursday, September 11, 2008
There's something I really don't get about this term's timetable...is it 14 weeks or 8 weeks? According to the college calendar it's 14 weeks but based on the subject outlines and pass year's experience it should be only 8 weeks.
~~~~~~
Short term is good because we get to rest more, but if you calculate the cost per lesson...you're in for a shock.

OK,before I calculated I was thinking something like RM30 per lesson.
But here is the actual amount:

Total fees for this term:RM4000
Number of hours: 14 hours per week X 8=112 hours
RM4000/112 hours=RM35.71

So all those 4 hour classes we are getting are worth=RM142.86

OK,to be fair Jason's classes are actually 5 hours long,not 4.

But I'm still going to take all those movies from the college computers.We should probably charge our handphones and computers at college as often as possible too. And use the water fountain more often.

And I thought music lessons were expensive.

Looks like I won't be starting college until next Thursday cos 3D modelling got cancelled.lol...

The timetable for me is like this,only 3 days:
Monday:3D modelling, 2.30~6.30pm
Thursday:Marketing n consumer behavior,10.30~12.30pm
                  3D animation, 2.00~6.00pm
Saturday:Concept art,9.30~1.30pm

few days but long classes.Dunno how am I gonna survive 4 hour classes,somemore so intimidating subjects like 3D modelling and animation.

My results are also out,and it seems that I have not failed anything eventhough there was some problem with concept art.The lowest marks I got was for animation,which was surprising,and also surprisingly I got A- for concept art.Seriously I didn't expect anything above C.

~~~~~~
OK,just a few more days of freedom.Nooo!!! I need more time to study Japanese!!(cough)
~~~~~~
In other news,I'm  currently reading Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.So far it is as funny as the movie,you guys should read it too.And watch the movie.

Monday, September 1, 2008

Jeez...August flew by so fast.Just goes to show time flies faster when you're having fun.Actually I'm not really looking forward to the new term tralalalalala...

~~~~~~
Besides that, yum cha gang want to go to Langkawi end of the year. I dunno whether I should follow them or not because
1)i'm going to vietnam already during that holiday
2)so it feels like a waste of money to tour so much
3)dunno whether it can work with my schedule,have to fit it in with college break, vietnam trip and christmas holidays(Because things get more expensive during that time.)
what do you think? have u guys been to Langkawi before? i havent...
actually wanted to go to Kapalai islands which is at the border of  Sabah and Indon, near Sipadan islands. But it's too expensive and dunno whether safe or not,sekali someone come and bomb the place up.But it looks so nice.Listerine blue water and white sand, corals, fishes, chalets built right above the sea...
~~~~~~

Sohs,what have I been doing during the holidays?

-Typing up my story for scriptorium(btw i think i'll be updating every 2 weeks now cos i dun hv a long enough story to last the term and i type slowly)
-Studying japanese a bit...finished beginner level liao.Can't wait to get to advanced level and study kanji,that's where I'm weakest...
-doing illustrations.wip stage still.
-practising violin.Hear that,YenYen?

yeah,that's typically my daily routine.Exercising is supposed to figure somewhere in there.

also,I found out the joys of downloading e books yesterday. This is a good site.

ok, ttfn

Friday, August 29, 2008

Sohs I updated my scriptorium at last,decided not to put in any illustrations because

1.I'm lazy
2.If I eventually decide to do so,it won't be this term break.

I'll prolly be updating it once a week with a new chapter

Thursday, August 28, 2008

Sohs here are a few pictures from my trip,not many because my camera kaputted halfway(on day 2/7 ohkaaay....)Video still works tho.
the usual view from the plane.
Kuching International Airport.Looks like a mini KLIA.
Some deco on the wall of a restaurant opposite my hotel.It's about Sang Kancil.
Carpenter street.Looks like those old family run business kind of shophouses along Petaling street.Almost all shops including coffee shops close by 6.30pm though.*yeah,I know,spot metering is like so totally not working here*
2nd day,in Bako National Park.We only took the 0.8km jungle trail,which is 1 hour to and fro,but when it's up and downhill,that's tiring enough.The longest trail is 7 hours each way,but also prolly would have the most interesting animals.Instead what we saw was the usual macaques and some wild boars near the park's HQ.
The beach at Bako during low tide.The cliffs look like old parchment.

OK,after this my camera is spoilt.Tadaa.
Wait...there is one shot that works,this is inside Wind Cave,taken with flash.Another cave had bats in them but i didn't manage to take pics.Looks pretty freaky without lights,no park guide,high humidity and screeching bats all around you.All you get is a feeble torchlight which lights up about a few cm space...When it's dark in a cave you can't even see your hand right in front of you.

~~~~~~~
OK,fine,I will add a few more lines about the highlights of our trip.
We also went to Semenggoh National park which is known for it's orang utan rehabilitation programme. They let the orang utans roam free in the forest and visitors can see them being fed during non fruiting seasons.There was one baby born just 2 weeks ago clinging to the mom too.When we were watching the orang utans being fed,one of them almost shat on me.I think it was aiming for the woman next to me.Yilyn was so having fun when I told her on msn.I know she wants to be shat upon by a wild animal one day.  They also have different gardens for wild plants around the park.
Near Semenggoh is the Padawan pitcher plant and orchid farm.Lol...first thing i though about when I heard that name was Star Wars.Anyways...it's quite a small farm,and has more pitcher plants than orchids,especially if you concider orchids has so many varieties.Lots of mosquitoes though,ironically.And no visitors eventhough it's supposed to be a tourist destination.
Another good place to go is the Santok market which is on Saturday afternoons to Sunday afternoons.Not sure if they stay there overnight.It's basically a big pasar malam but they also sell plants and pet animals.
Besides that we only went to the usual museums.Ethnic museum was ok,Art museum was super lame,Cat museum was lol,Textile museum was not bad.
That's all.lol.Basically if you want to have a unique experience in Sarawak you should go for the national parks .I'm not sure about the cultural village,the entry was expensive at RM60,but everyone keeps talking about it.Claims to have daily tribal dancing and can see tribes' daily lives.Prolly something to look out for if you are there during the Rainforest music festival.We just missed it.It was last month
