Sarah Brightman-It's a beatiful day

Un bel giorno ...
Un bel giorno per morire
Un bel di, vedremo
Levarsi un fil di fumo
Sull'estremo con fin del mare
E poi la nave appare

With every new day
Your promises fade away
It's a fine day to see
Though the last day for me
It's a beautiful day

Un bel di, vedremo
Levarsi un fil di fumo
Sull'estremo con fin del mare
E poi la nave appare

With every new day
Your promises fade away
It's a fine day to see
Though the last day for me
It's a beautiful day

It's the last day for me
It's a beautiful day

It's the last day for me
It's a beautiful day

In an article from EMI Canada it says:
Brightman even reaches into the world of grand opera, spiriting away the melody of Puccini's "Un bel di" from Madame Butterfly to spark "It's a Beautiful Day"
Thus, the Italian lines in the lyrics are from "Un Bel Dì". The first two lines are spoken by Chiara Ferrau, the "narrator" [thanks to Mark Bliss for telling me]. The other Italian lines are sung by Sarah in an operatic way. Jonathan Kunaifi provided a translation, which I adapted a little:

Un bel di, vedremo
Levarsi un fil di fumo
Sull'estremo con fin del mare
E poi la nave appare

One fine day, we'll notice
A thread of smoke arising
On the far horizon above the sea
And then the ship appearing

Denis Pitter adds:
Sarah's "Un Bel Dì" is a cover of Schiller's "Ein Schöner Tag", featured in the album "Weltreise" and sung by the German (?) Opera singer Isgaard; the author of the music is Christopher von Deylen and he is scheduled in the credits of the booklet.
Sarah's version of the song is more complete in a way, because she adds new lyrics (With every new day/Your promises fade away/It's a fine day to see/Though the last day for me/It's a beautiful day) and she permeates the song with a more intense arabic feeling. She also sings the italian lines in a more comprehensible way than Isgaard.

Again, the music as has an Arabic feel with a dance beat through it, which makes a very odd combination, I think.

~~~~~~~
I suddenly just feel like blogging about this song.I really like it.The first 2 lines in the narrator's deep voice contrasting with Sarah Brightman's super high notes gives me goosebumps.
Ignore the video though.I don't really like the woodlands fairy effect thinggy...should have retained the whole arabesque feel done something more like Madonna's Frozen.
Also,another song that I like: Gothica+Fleurs du Mal
Is it you I keep thinking of?
Should I feel like I do?
I've come to know that I miss your love
While I'm not missing you
We run
Til it's gone
Et les fleurs du mal
Won't let you be
You hold the key to an open door
Will I ever be free?
[Chorus:]
Les fleurs du mal unfold
Comme les fleurs du mal
Dark demons of my soul
Un amour fatal
Been tryin' hard to fight
Comme les fleurs du mal
Les fleurs du mal inside
Un amour fatal
All my life I've been waiting for
In this perfume of pain
To forget when I needed more
Of love's endless refrain
We live
And we pray
Pour les fleurs du mal
I've lost my way
What is done will return again
Will I ever be free?
[Repeat chorus]
Les fleurs du mal
Comme les fleurs du mal
Un amour fatal
Comme les fleurs du mal
[Repeat chorus]
It's the first song.Her Harem album was arabesque but Symphony was more of Gothic i think.Too bad they didn't have the electric guitar in this version
The sinful gluttony post
Hmm...if I were about to leave Malaysia,say to study or work abroad,I think I would have to go on a food eating spree.Malaysia is lame compared to other countries in all aspects except food.Ask anybody who has migrated overseas and they would agree too.
So here's my list of food for a food spree ala Malaysian:
-Nasi lemak.Easy winner for the top spot.The Malay nasi lemak they sell at the stall opposite New Apollos in USJ4 and the Chinese one they sell at Sungei Way wet market are my favourite.The malay one has very fragrant rice and the people who sell the rice are very friendly and can remember you by name even if you have been overseas for a few years.(they remembered my uncle who migrated to Aussieland)The Chinese one actually has quite a disgusting location,right next to the chicken stalls and there are chickens being slaughtered not far away.But the food is nice,good price and good portion,plus the curry is like totally syok.
-Roti canai.It's very cheap here okaaay.60 cents per piece usually.Go to Aussie land and it's prolly around Aussie$3 per piece,which is almost RM9.Straight from the hot plate (even if you would feel better not knowing that the mamak just went to the toilet or dug his nose 5 minutes ago)warm and crunchy with many thin layers and drenched with sauce.
-Nasi campur ala mamak.The best one is in Goodyear court(number what, i dunno) in USJ,near Mark's Barber shop.Very generous portions,me and my mum usually have to share one packet.The best thing is the mutton curry and what I suppose is bayam.My mom suspects there are drugs in the rice cos it's so nice.lol...
-Indian rojak.The best one is sold out of the back of a van in SS14,opposite the petrol station near the drive thru McDs.Ignore McDs and go straight for the rojak ok.Their fries can last for 2 months without rotting.(oh wait,it just occured to me that buying a few packets and putting them under you bed is a good plan to battle 1 college term worth of midnight cravings if you are an outstation student)Anyways,back to the rojak,my mom thinks there are drugs in them too.The mamaks comes to ss14 at 11am and suddenly a hoard of customers will practically serang hendap them to buy the rojak.Then the cendol guy nextdoor will totally look like a ke le fe.(supporting actor)
-Chicken lice.i just had some today.Fresh chicken with the watery chilli sauce and sliced raw  cucumbers.waa...syok.Especially Hainanese chicken rice.I remember when I was a kid,chicken rice was my staple diet whenever i went hang kai with my family.Dun need to ask what i want to eat one,just buy chicken rice.So far my favourite is sold in Taipan USJ near the library.
-Yau char kuai.Oil fried devils.Good with porridge,even better by themselves.The amount of oil dripping of them are sinful enough but worth it if you don't eat them often.Additionally,they look phallic.Oh yeah,bite it babeh.XD
-Sate.OK,besides the annoying fact that I am yet to discover a technique to eat all the peanut sauce in that small shallow bowl,satay is almost synonymous with kenduri.And kajang.Where an annoying uncle lives,but that's besides the point.I dunno...grilling sate on the spot somehow feels like a festival in itself.And if you have good imagination it can seem phallic as well. D:
-Speaking about festivals,next up is teh tarik.Hmm...I've never seen a teh tariking competition live.But you have to admit that tariking somehow makes low grade tea taste good.eh...wait a minute...is teh tarik tea or coffee...ok,nevermind.
-And speaking about drinks,next up is sugar cane.Which I did not get to drink today.Tastes good without any flavourings or sugar don't it.But then again sugar is made from sugar cane.Pretend you don't know this and savour the fact that you are drinking something that is 100% natural.
-Apam balik.OMG...almost forgot.The one near One Academy damn syok one.It's crunchier and oilier and sweeter than most other ones.Though the one sold by the Chinese guy at the pasar malam near 3K is more generous in portion.And apam balik is so cheap!It's my "I'm Broke"food.
-Dim Sum.OK lah,it's actually Hong Kong food,but it's popular here also.It's just that they are so cute and can choose a lot of varieties.And they usually have prawns in them and I like prawns.I think I like eating small things(no,it's not what you are thinking about),that's why I like sushi and takoyaki and biscuits also.Dainty little things that are eaten with chopsticks and washed down with tea.
-Cat shit.Eh...no,durian.I don't really know which type is which,but i like those that are sweet and watery.My mom prefers the bitter ones though.And when it's durian season,they are sold dirt cheap.Funny thing is that when I was young I didn't like durian.Not because of the smell though.So it's true that durian is an acquired taste.
-Butter prawns/butter crab. Maybe the best part about it is the butter.lol...sinful little deep fried oily bits of egg.But I really like prawns and crab too.The only thing is that eating crab is so mah fan and the meat always get stuck between my fingernails.But the strand like texture is nice...and then if you go to seafood restaurants you get to see all the water animals,the lobsters with the heavy armour and the kick ass fishes that are bigger than your torso.And can see people eating like barbarians and women trying to eat crabs without using the small hammers and using fork and spoon only.I don't care one,I use the hammer and then eat with my fingers and scatter the shells all over the place.
-Tambun biscuits.If you go to Penang,you don't need to buy the cheap pirated dvds or cute batik wraparound  skirts or local artwork.(although i don't mind*hinthint*) just buy tambun biscuits and I'm happy enough.It's messy to eat them but they are cute little things aren't they.
-The biscuit formerly know as honeycomb biscuit.I dunno what it's called,but it's nice.I like to eat the little segments one by one .
-The biscuit formerly known as melting white biscuit.I also don't now what it's called.But you know what I mean.
-The biscuit formerly know as love letters.The formal name is kuih kapit.(lol...i almost typed it as kuih kapek).It's difficult to make and difficult to get the correct texture,but when it's fresh it's a nice and crunchy and layered cute little paper doily lookalike.
-Hong Kong pancake.lol...i don't care,they serve them at chinese weddings and that's good enough for me.HK pancakes are those very thin crispy pastry things with red bean in the middle that they sometimes serve as dessert at hotel weddings together with the ping pei things and the tong sui things.Usually by the time they serve them, some working class people would have gone home to sleep and I can get another portion of the pancakes.And that's why i like chinese weddings.That and the fact that I can get away with drinking wine all in the sake of celebrations.So before I go overseas someone has to get married,ok?
-coconuts.lol.Although the Thai ones are nicer.I'm talking about the coconuts that grow on trees of course,eventhough I do admit that Thai aquas are damn leng lui.
-and at #20, Pisang emas.Small buggers but very sweet.
-oh wait,i think cili padi deserves an honourable mention.
Aaaaa...I have 2989 deviations accumulated in my dA account .Dunno why nowadays don't have any semangat to see dA.
I'm in paaaaaiinaaaaaaaaaaarrghhhh.....
Having a headache.Panadol at home expired liao,and temple massaging is not helping.
My left upper arm feels broken.Feels like last time when I fractured my lower left arm,cannot straighten properly...shouldn't have been so overzealous about the dumbells eventhough my arms' diameter are like 40% fat...
My left eye is also twitching a lot recently.You guys better stop gossipping about me.How nice if it was my right eye twitching instead because that means I'm getting money.I need money.I wanna go shopping spree for actual clothes,not art material.
Crunchyroll is loading like totally at the speed of a bullet.That's why I am blogging now.To use up some time.And because I don't feel like browsing dA.
Doing that holiday thang.
Holiday mode+me=
1)practised driving
At last I got to try out the Honda City.It's a lot easier to drive than the white Kanch.No need to push your whole body forward to use the pedals,dun need to manually wind down the windows,dun need to sit next to obese old instructor guy who falls asleep while teaching,anndddddddd.....It's auto!
lol...I'm damn cheating one.
Drove around deserted factory/residential areas oni so far.Between 20~40kmph.But still my mom was very scared at the back seat.She told me she was clutching the front seat very hard 0_0. OKlah...to her credit, my judgement is still very char. And the second time i drove i stepped on the accelerator before starting the car(supposed to step on the brake for auto)so it made a revving rempit sound effect.But still not that char gua...
2)cg-ed
There's supposed to be a pic here...ah well...
Followed some tutorials at Linda Bergkvist's website.Yes,that person again.The tutorials are for photorealistic styles mostly.But the tutorials are seriously good,helps for traditional media also.
3)sleep
teehee.
Don't look at me like that,you sleep a lot too.
4)exercise
Yes,believe it or not,I exercised. A few times. And now my arms are painful.
5)crunchyroll
Yeah man.Watch while you have the chance.
*imagine an Engine poster here*
At last I finished Engine.Not a big feat since I only had 2 episodes left.lol.But it was very good,you guys should watch it too.If even it's only to drool over Takuya Kimura.*damn...but he's married*The kids are cute too,especially the fat boy who loves mayonnaise.
Then later I was scrolling down the index page to look for the next drama to watch and then taadaa..."Boys love"
OMG...It's like so totally shonen ai potential.Must watch.And it was.And from here onwards any straight guy readers can skip the next few paragraphs of my entry.Actually as it goes with most gay movies it doesn't stop at shonen ai but goes all the way to yaoi. Anisa,listen up. Verdict? OKOK only.Not a total porn movie acting as a proper movie,but a lot of over the top scenes as well.A few cute scenes in there that makes the movie worthwhile.The central theme is more about friendship than romance methinks.Good subtle ending also,eventhough some dimwits on crunchyroll still don't get it.
And then I continued the gay theme.What?! This is what happens when I don't read gay comics for too long.So I went on to Bangkok Love Story,since a lot of people said it's good.I think it's better than Boys Love.The photography is very good in a dark way,and they know how to make scenes look tasteful that would otherwise end up gory or trashy.Eventhough the poster looks wronger than Boys Love it's actually not as extreme.
Next?...OK...then I decided not to continue the theme since the other movies in crunchyroll seemed to be getting wronger and wronger.So I did the next best thing and watched Coffee Prince.lol.Why?Because I read the synopsis in the newspaper and it sounded so shonen ai borderline.And I didn't follow the TV airing because I suck at remembering what time they air.That was how I missed out on Lost and Heroes.Verdict is...still no verdict...I'm still at episode 3.But the main character really reminds me of a schoolmate in highschool.I really thought she was a guy.And not only me.Hmm...but the actress is not as hot as my schoolmate.ahahahahahaaa...
Next up,something that Yilyn recommended to me;Yobi.It's a Korean anime,I haven't watched that type before.Also still no verdict,I'm currently on part 1 of 3.But I agree that it's very Studio Ghibli-ish especially the character design.
Oh well,on with the holiday!!
Stupid question #456:How to make Vision Art aunty happy.
Answer:Spend RM1111 in a single receipt.
Sohs,I went and bought marker supplies for myself,Yilyn, Anisa and Simone today.The total was 202 pieces of Prismacolour berol markers at Rm5.50 each that amounted to RM1111.The Vision Art aunty was smiling non stop while she was calculating the total okay...eventhough she said she makes 3o sen profit from each marker only.(no,she didn't give me discount ToT)
And this is my collection of markers now.
Another shot:
Fine,those grey markers at the side are last term's leftover markers,I just put them there to be more dramatic.
And this is how 202 pieces of markers look like.Each box has 6 markers inside.
OK,fine,my leftover markers from last term are in there also.
So now my collection lives in my art supply cabinet together with the Highschool staple of cheap Buncho poster colours.
And since we are on the topic of crazy expensive art materials,we might as well add in my supplies for Jason's sculpting class.
Photostats amounting to RM2,
3 bars of clay amounting to RM120,
wires amounting to RM6,
epoxy putty worth RM3 if i share with Anisa
sculpting tools amounting to RM36.50(and i need to buy more)
and the wood block worth RM3.50
equals to...RM171
gasps...
*btw,it's cheaper to get the other sculpting tools at Vision for RM17.50(a few pieces) rather than Multifilla that sells them for like RM12 per piece...
Closeup shot of my tools
A sketch of the bugger I'm gonna sculpt.I call his Sergeant Thor.He basically looks like Davy Jones plus adult Bambi plus an asian elephant plus a random leather wearing biker guy minus the jacket.
So far I've done until here only: the metal frame.Those horizontal sotong leg things are supposed to end up at the octopus tentacles.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NISA!!
Today was Anisa's birthday.We went to Pyramid for dinner ,Anisa,boyfriend Hafiz, Simone n 2 of her friends, Talissa, Yilyn and myself.Spent a good hour looking for a present and in the end got her a big stuffed dog and...ehem...something else that's useful...Just so happens that on that day there was the Freeze event in Pyramid so we participated too.
First,here are some pics n others i got while transfering pics from my cam.
Hugh G Rection,our class mascot,as named by an amused Syed.It's our masking tape teddy bear that we hug to sleep in the 2d lab and do other unspecified things with it.
Shooting our animation final project.
OK,next up,today's pictures.
Yilyn and Tali
Yilyn, Hafiz n Nisa.(those are my fans btw.they just transform into gay ppl when they touch them.lol...Traaaaansformers...)
HOLIDAY!!!!!!!!!!
i'm so gonna crunchyroll now.i think i can finish watching Engine.1 more episode to go.Any recommendations on what to watch next?BTW I recommend watching Nodame Cantabile(movie.i havent watched the anime) and Engine.
Today was quite nice,went to college at 1 and printed my stuff,no problem.Didn't do any character design for Jason's sculpture class,but neither did anyone else,so i'm gonna show him on Monday instead.If anyone's interested,the workshop starts on Monday 2pm,dunno what classroom yet.The cost of materials is roughly RM100.Then after that lepak in the 2d lab and watched Tim Burton's short animation 'Vincent' on youtube.lol...super emo little boy,can contend with Mr 'leave-britney-alone' already.I can imagine how emo Tim Burton must have been growing up.Now,I'm watching Frankenweenie,also by Tim Burton.
My to do list for the term break:
13)Go shopping.
OMG I'm so vain...
*gasp*
to compensate for my super lame tag,here are some random pictures of fictional leng chais.lol...Yes,I'm so super geeky,thank you.
*names are the artists' names. add '.deviantart.com' and you get their website.
liaf
-I think this pic is a fanart...not sure.
lian blackdream
feimo
-check her out and her other Chinese kaki,they do a lot of good lengchai CGs.Birds of a feather flock together,if you find one of them you find all of them.
technoelfie
-when I was reading Anne Rice I used to think Lestat would look like this.Incidentally, Louis was Josh Groban in my mind.OMG..Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt are so out of question...Antonio Banderas as Armand is just really funny...I can still picture him licking his own ass like puss in boots.
feimo
-gasp...Nisa!Look! Choir boy!
liaf
azhrarn
-Singaporean artist,if I'm not mistaken. Somehow I think Singaporean artists tend to do more racy paintings...,but maybe it's just a coincidence...I think this painting is suggestive.lols...
enayla
-oh,yes,the staple artist.
OMGosh...I think this is prolly one of the best male paintings I've seen so far
enayla
enayla
this pic looked strange until i saw the closeup...
7.OMG...this shows how short of ideas I am...I have some dA members to show.D8
Plusone , the animator guy.I think he took down this pic from his gallery...
8. Same as Anisa, BellZ.
I'm currently not sure about this guy because his narcissistic aura is so powerful.And he has a lot of scary fangirls.I think the problem with me is that I don't really like overpopular guys...
But still,he's good looking and multitalented.
No pictures,people,go watch the video.lol...actually I got turned off after seeing Yilyn,Anisa and Simone all scream fangirlly all over that video but then later I liked this guy more when I watched his other videos without super shoujo fangirl company...
BTW,you girls would be happy to know that that voice is real,and he's not a castrati after all.Look---> wiki
*the right one ok?lol...*I think i'm somehow just continuing some kind of theme of high pitched singing,but nevertheless his voice is so sweet.Ignore Sarah Brightman eventhough she is wearing nice eyeshadow and a shiny corset.Watch the video.
I tag...
Everyone who hasn't done the tag. Seriously. Dom,change the title to "sexy woman tag".No excuses,Mr. My-term-is-over-today.Ahahah ahahah*evil laugh*
Tagged by Anisa and Joyce
TEN SEXIEST FAMOUS MEN
01. Compose a list of YOUR top ten sexiest famous men.
02. Collect one picture of each guy on your list.
03. Post them in your journal.
04. Tag five people to do the same.
OMG...i think I'm gonna have a hard time with this one.First because i rarely look for pics of famous people(unless I'm obsessive over them) ,2nd,most guys i think of as sexy are fictional characters, and 3rd,as Siao Chen said, they look good in their movies but offscreen they look bad.There are a lot of good looking guys,but somehow they don't strike me as sexy...
OK then,in no particular order:
1) Takuya Kimura.I think it's prolly his powerful confidence aura.lol...and that sexy smile.Currently watching his series 'Engine'. Yes,still watching.I'm a sad sad person.You!Yes,you,go watch it too.
2. Maksim. Because he has nice features.And he has a sort of mysterious look.And same as #1,his aura is like very powerful (imagine thunderstorms,something liddet)And he's Croatian,not US of A-an or Japanese like most celebs.Variety be the spice of life.
3. Josh Groban. He's talented and modest at the same time.He looks so cute when he smiles,makes you just want to hug him.Aww...Somehow he always looks very genuine and from the heart in doing whatever he does.
4. Orlando Bloom.OK,fine,quite generic.But he is good looking.Doesn't pose that well for photos tho.I think he looks best in LOTR.
5. Takeshi Kaneshiro. Yes,another super generic person.But i think he's the one that's most consistently good looking.lol...but seriously,every photo of him looks good.And look,he's wet.
6. Johnny Depp aka Tim Burton's lelaki simpanan.He looks dramatically different in each of his roles,but he's always super stylish and then a few days after his movie comes out suddely you see everyone wearing the same thing as him.
7,8,9,10,I'll get back to you.lol.Nowadays I only watch the Simpsons and Homer Simpson is not the sexiest thing to happen to humankind.
